Migrating an existing Sync from SOAP to REST

Migration of existing syncs from SOAP to REST requires some manual steps.

First of all, stop the old SOAP sync. Do not enable it anymore afterwards. Please wait a minute or two to be sure that the sync stopped. Configure a new REST sync for the same project after the old one is definitely stopped. Configure it the same way as the old SOAP sync. Please make sure that both, the field mappings and the field value mappings are identical. You must configure the Field for Jira ID and you must use the same field as used in the SOAP sync. Otherwise, the REST sync will not pick up the items from the SOAP sync but instead create new ones which will result in duplicates. When configured correctly, you can activate the new REST sync. The REST sync will now automatically pick up all the items from the SOAP sync and check that they are still in sync. This can take some time. Check for sync errors in the sync configurator. You might have to force some items back into sync. Finally, we recommend to delete the old SOAP sync to prevent it from being started again.
